This quilt is made using ties and a focus fabric (which is the center strip of Dalmatian fabric in each block).  The method used in construction of the quilt is called string piecing.  Ties are very interesting to work with and can sometimes be quite challenging as they do tend to slip and slide.  Nevertheless, they can produce interesting and lovely quilts.  This quilt can also be made with regular fabrics cut into different width strips to make it more interesting.
