Contra Dance is the third in the Straight to the Point Series.  The above sample was created with the "You Go Girl" fabric line by Northcott Fabrics.  See more examples by clicking on the View More Images link under the picture.

Contra Dance has three simple blocks: a square 8", 10" or 12", a 4-patch made with 4", 5" or 6" squares and a block with 2 smaller 4-patches and 2 plain patches.

All the blocks are set as straight rows. The quilt is then cut and re-sewn into an on-point setting. There are NO diagonal rows of different sizes, NO setting triangles and NO corner blocks. Our technique makes On-Point sets a snap. See our quick demonstration page.

Contra Dance is especially good when you want to feature a large or medium-large scale print.  There are SIX sizes!

Note: If your quilting style requires completely perfect points,this pattern may not be for you. Due to the nature of the technique,the corners of blocks that touch the inside border are slightly trimmed.
