 Another traditional, complicated block made simple.  This block is made with one template and three pieces, including the background.  The curves are easy as hand or machine applique.  The only difficult part is remembering to make half the blocks reversed.  Four paper piece snail trail blocks accent the intersections to add a design element that makes this quilt look much more difficult than it is.  Pick a print background and two coordinating, contrasting colors from the print for a contemporary version.
