Anita Hotchkiss
Anita Hotchkiss has been working with fiber most of her life. Her aunt taught her to knit when she was in the third grade. From there she tried all the fiber crafts; crochet, embroidery, crewel work. She eventually learned to sew and made all her own clothes in high school and then went on to making dolls to help provide for her family in the early years of her marriage. One thing led to another and Anita eventually became a proud owner of a spinning wheel and a loom. She joined the local guild and started advancing her skills in the fiber arts.
Being a shop owner has always been a dream of Anita's since high school and finally in 2005 she was able to acquire a trailer. Not your ordinary building for a shop but she has made due with the help of her dear husband. She opened the doors in January 2006 and can say it is a very cozy, enjoyable place to spend time.
Anita's passion is to pass on the things that she has learned. Working with all ages and genders is very rewarding, especially when you see the joy and pleasure in their faces after successfully completing a project. She loves to teach! Visit Anita's website at http://anitashomespun.com.
