How to Make Your Own Garter for a "Big Bath" BridalBake™
| Ready-made garters are generally available in the bridal departments of sewing stores (and other places bridal fabrics, notions, and supplies are sold). But if you want to make your own to exactly match your "Big Bath" BridalBake™ , here's how:

You'll Need:
| •
1-3/4 yds. pre-gathered lace, 1-1/4" wide
| •
3/4 yd. elastic, 1/4" wide
| •
1-1/4 yds. double-faced-satin ribbon, 5/8" wide
Construction:
Cut one piece of 1/4" elastic to top-layer circumference measurement.
Add 6"-8" to top-layer circumference measurement. Cut two pieces of 1-1/4" pre-gathered lace and one piece of 5/8" ribbon to this length.
Stitch the two pieces of lace together (whipstitch by hand or machine zig-zag) along finished edges. Center ribbon over seam in lace.Stitch along both edges, creating a casing.

Insert elastic through casing, drawing up lace so it's even with elastic at each end. Stitch short ends togethe to create a circle.
Finishing:
Scrunch a 6"-8" piece of pre-gathered lace into a rosette; stitch to garter to cover seam. Cut a 16" length of 5/8" ribbon; tie into a bow. Stitch bow and three ribbon-roses (two large and one small) to lace rosette.

I have just completed the pattern - Contra Dance. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed making this quilt and that the instructions were clear enough even for a beginner like me. I intend to purchase more of your patterns and know that I will enjoy them just as much. Thanks for the designs that look like an expert did them but are for 'newbies' like me.
