Dyed & Gone to Heaven

Lisa Walton
lives in Sydney, Australia and has been quilting for over ten years. The first quilt she ever made was out of pre-cut Laura Ashley squares, and is now the family picnic rug living in the boot of the car.

She was given a pack of hand dyes at a quilters' Christmas Party about five years ago and the bug bit hard. Friends started wanting to raid her stash - which was growing at an alarming rate - and were willing to pay real money for them. Her design work started when purchasers of her fabrics said how much they loved them but couldn't work out what to do with them.

Lisa has had quilts published in Australian patchwork magazines and recently had a quilt included in the Patchwork Place publication "Bright Quilts from Down Under". She has developed her own style of bright, lively quilts using traditional and contemporary techniques.

Dyed and Gone to Heaven use only the highest quality 100% cotton quilters' muslin. Once dyed, the fabric retains its softness, and is perfect for hand and machine piecing and quilting. All our fabric is washed and rinsed many times after dyeing to maximize colorfastness.

Lisa sells her fabric Internationally. She also sells kits for many of her patterns. Visit Lisa's website at http://www.dyedheaven.com.

I have just completed the quilt pattern - Contra Dance. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed making this quilt and that the instructions were clear enough even for a beginner like me. I intend to purchase more of your patterns and know that I will enjoy them just as much.  Thanks for the designs that look like an expert did them but are for 'newbies' like me.
