Downton Queen Quilt Pattern NDD-140

This pattern was designed by myself, Nancy Dill, using reproduction fabrics created just for the Downton Abbey TV show. The fabric featured has been appropriately named "Downton Queen" by Kathy Hall for Andover Fabrics. The pattern is for intermediate and advanced skill levels. The finished size of this quilt is 84" x 84." This pattern can be purchased through Quiltwoman.com and is available in an e-pattern as well. When Andover asked me to see if any of my designers could come up with anything really special for this fabric line, I decided I wanted to take a crack at it myself. I started sketching at the CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) while in Vegas. At that time, I had only watched the show once before. I rented seasons 1-3 and watched them as I was making the quilt. Now my husband and I are both completely hooked! We love the history that is intertwined with the plot and Maggie Smith is such a hoot. The technique I used to create the pointy border I created myself. I really enjoyed working on this design. It was very exciting to see the quilt displayed in the huge presentation at Quilt Market and in the Andover booth during the show.
