A 14" square appliqued, embroidered, and beaded wool table mat featuring 3 dimensional wool and cork holly leaves and bright red berries. The pattern features the use of cork appliqued to the top set of holly leaves - to provide extra texture, interest and color. One could also use wool for those same appliques,. All the bright red wool berries are stuffed and accented with a seed bead. A Very Holly Time provides an opportunity to try some beading although it can be completed with conventional basic applique stitches. The pattern includes full-sized templates, along with complete step by step directions and illustration. There are also pages of information and illustrations about beads and beading techniques as well as illustrated pages of embroidery stitches used and links to my video tutorial for beading. This pattern is best suited for the intermediate or advanced stitcher.
