Stenciling and theorem painting were popular in Colonial America. Both used stencils to create art. This applique design substitutes fabric for the stencil shapes and fuses them onto a pieced background. The result is a very handsome machine fusible appliqued wall hanging in a classic style to grace today's traditional American home.
