Simple one-patch blocks make Barn Dance very easy to sew. Barn Dance is the Sixth in the Straight to the Point Series. Blocks are 3", 31/2", 4 1/2" or 5 1/2" depending on quilt size.
Barn Dance uses 4 light and 4 dark fabrics for the baby size or 6 light and 6 dark fabrics for the larger sizes. Another option is to use your scraps for Barn Dance. Just make sure all the darks are similar in value and color and all the lights are similar in color and value. Or just pick up a bunch of fat quarters from a fabric collection that has lots of fabrics. We used fabric from the Mansfield Park Collection by Timeless Treasures Fabric Company.
All the blocks are set as straight rows. The quilt is then cut and re-sewn into an on-point setting. The are NO diagonal rows of different sizes and NO setting triangles. Our technique makes On-Point sets a snap. Download our quick demonstration page.
There are FIVE sizes!
