The Floating Treasures pattern is designed to be used with fabric where an interesting image fits within a 4 " frame. Island Batiks sets of nine hand painted batik squares are ideal. It can also be used to showcase novelty or floral prints. Or try making photo transfers of your favorite photographs and use Floating Treasures to display them. Each featured fabric will appear to float off the surface of the quilted wall hanging. We have included an optional One-Step Mitered Border and Binding option that you may wish to try. It makes the final border and binding step fast, neat and easy. Traditional finishing is also included in the pattern. (Panda pattern not included.) Jean Dunn developed this new mitered frame technique to use with her lined napkin pattern, Table Graces.
The sample with the lighthouses was made by a customer, Maureen J. of Australia. Her father was a lighthouse keeper. What a great way to "treasure" a memory!
