This versatile design looks great in contemporary, novelty, traditional and even reproduction fabrics. High contrast between block frames and sashing gives the quilt a more graphic or contemporary look, while the softer colors of traditional and reproduction fabrics give it a more blended look. The thimble-shaped tumblers are fused into place and then appliqued to anchor them to the quilt blocks before constructing the top. This means no wrestling the whole quilt through your machine. The basic fabric requirements are given on the pattern cover, with other options found on the cutting page including tips for choosing fabrics for a scrappy version.
